Navy Region Southwest employs School Liaison Officers (SLOs) who serve as liaisons between the Navy installation commander, military agencies and schools by providing assistance in matters pertaining to student education. The SLOs also implement the Navy’s Strategic Planning for Education Advocacy K-12 recommendations in order to ensure Navy families have access to quality educational opportunities. SLOs level the playing field for military children by ensuring maximum educational opportunities for academic success. The installation SLOs are each assigned an area in San Diego in which they actively engage with the military families, school districts and their installation commanding officer. Every SLO maintains an office located on their assigned installation and is actively engaged in school districts with high concentrations of enrolled military children. If you are new to San Diego, deciding on what district and school site your children will attend can be overwhelming.
