On the Radar: Iran Tensions, Artemis III Crew & Women Veterans Day

Here's what's on the radar in military life this week. Tensions between the United States and Iran continue to escalate following another round of strikes this week. President Trump warned that additional military action remains possible and said the U.S. could seek total control of Iran's oil and gas infrastructure, including key export facilities. The comments come as military operations and diplomatic efforts continue simultaneously fueling concerns about a broader regional conflict. Army Colonel and NASA astronaut Frank Rubio has been selected for the Artemis III mission, a major step toward future lunar exploration. Rubio will join Marine Corps veteran Randy Bresnik, Italian ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano, and Coast Guard Reserve officer Andre Douglas on the four-person crew. Rubio previously set the U.S. record for the longest single spaceflight, spending 371 days aboard the International Space Station. New legislation introduced in both the House and Senate could give pregnant service members more flexibility in their health care. The proposal would treat pregnancy as a qualifying life event, allowing active-duty troops to temporarily switch from TRICARE Prime to TRICARE Select, allowing greater choice and continuity of maternity care.
